Project Context
VEÓN was developed as a concept-first hospitality project in Athens, created to respond to demand for venues that combine strong identity, all-day relevance, and disciplined commercial thinking. The brief centred on shaping a hospitality product with enough character to stand apart in a competitive urban market, while remaining grounded in operational logic, guest flow, and a realistic route to launch. Matthew Roffe led the strategic definition of the concept, helping establish the positioning, guest promise, commercial framework, and development priorities required to move the project from early ambition into a coherent proposition.
Strategic Response
The work focused on defining VEÓN as a hospitality concept with a clear market role, a credible guest proposition, and a development pathway that could support both brand clarity and operational performance. This included concept creation, positioning, guest journey thinking, food and beverage logic, spatial experience direction, and early pre-opening priorities. Matthew Roffe shaped the strategic narrative around how the venue should feel, who it should attract, how it should trade across dayparts, and where commercial discipline needed to guide design and experience decisions. The result was a concept framework that aligned brand ambition with practical delivery, giving the client a stronger basis for design development, operator planning, and launch preparation.
